Welcome to Iron Hills Nigerian Dwarf Goats.
We are just starting our herd and doing it with care and consideration.
Our primary goal is cheesemaking so dairy potential is of the utmost importance. We find that the Nigerian Dwarf milk is richer and creamier than other goats and makes delicious cheeses of all types.
Since good conformation is critical to dairy quality, we also try to keep our goats in line with both AGS and NDGA standards and all our goats are dual registered pure-breeds.
Another important goal is raising warm, friendly animals that work well together and with the humans and other species on our farm. Since temperment is so important we go to great lengths to help our kids become socialized and friendly as well as to learn normal herd behaviour.
And, of course, what good is an animal if it is unhealthy? All our animals are tested yearly for CAE, are wormed regularly, and are provided with the nutrients needed to grow strong and healthy and live long lives.
